Aha.

There are plenty of lawyers you can choose from, so we do our best to stand out from the pack by making sure that when you work with us, your client experience is "aha-worthy."

KATHERINE L. TAYLOR

Katherine founded Taylor Legal™ in 2004 after serving Howard County Government for a decade and working with a respected Baltimore firm for an additional 7 years as a commercial litigator.

Katherine's strong work ethic and competency were apparent as an undergraduate as well as in law school.  She graduated with honors when obtaining both her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Charlotte, NC and when she obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law in Baltimore.  She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

ANDREA LEWINTER

Upon completing law school, Andrea was offered a Furman Fellowship and worked with the Southern Fellowship of Human Rights.  She worked in the Attorney General's Office in Washington state before relocating to Maryland in 2005.  She works with Taylor Legal as Of Counsel to the firm on a variety of cases involving real property disputes and representing property owner associations.

She received high academic honors from New York University of Law, John F Kennedy School of Government, and Columbia College, Columbia University, New York, NY.

MICHAEL WOLSH

Michael is Taylor Legal's Of Counsel. Michael enjoys working with small business owners and prides himself on not only diligently providing legal services, but on taking time to tailor his legal advice to fit his clients' unique needs.

After receiving a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, Michael went on to receive a Master of Laws in Taxation from Georgetown's renowned tax law program. Before starting his own practice and working with Taylor Legal, he worked for the prestigious Johns Hopkins School of Medicine on policy and regulatory matters, and for a premier estate and tax planning firm in metropolitan Washington D.C. Prior to law school, Michael graduated Magna Cum Laude from UMBC with degrees in Political Science and Psychology.

Responsibilities

Michael regularly drafts and advises on:

  • Operating agreements, bylaws, and buy-sell agreements;
  • Asset purchase agreements, stock redemptions, and LLC membership transfers; and
  • Independent contractor, employment, non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, and master-service and license agreements.

Due to his tax and estate planning background and having worked for clients from a variety of industries, Michael calls on that broad knowledge to provide comprehensive advice to his clients. For example, he's worked for a number of clients in the entertainment industry with a heavy focus on intellectual property and he brings that experience to the table for his clients in other industries who are increasingly concerned
with intellectual property issues. As another example, especially in the context of forming, purchasing, and selling companies, he not only advises on the standard contractual issues, but he can also address tax or estate planning concerns inherent to a client's transaction.

To Michael, nothing is more rewarding than being the first person a client calls when a new issue arises. In the small city he grew up in, he admired the “Main Street” lawyers he knew who would handle any legal need their clients had. In terms of his clients' business needs, he strives to serve that role.

Family and Community

Michael lives in Howard County, Maryland with his wife and their two children. When not talking contracts, He'd probably mention…

  • He and his wife met at a party that neither were invited to.
  • He once shot 32 in a 9-hole golf tournament (it was a par 35, but still).
  • He primarily listens to music made prior to 1980.
  • To all who will understand the reference, La Cheeserie!
  • He and his wife have taken their young kids (first time was their son at 13
months old) on more than a dozen flights that were 12 hours or longer and it
    really hasn't been that bad.
